Project Berserk is a 2D fighting game where you fight with or against your friends with crazy sci-fi tech, innovative mechanics, and a classic yet colorful retro feel! It intends to challenge the fighting game formula with various fighter complexities, wild forms of player expression through dense mechanics, and multiple gamemodes like a 4-Player Free For All!

Project Berserk includes the main gamemodes expected for a classic fighting game; the 1v1 Fight, a Training Mode, and a Learn menu, which includes a How To Play guide with written discussions of universal mechanics and Movesets to let you dive into every part of a character's movelist!
On top of that, there is also Multi-Fight, capable of up to 4 Players in either a free-for-all or team battle!
Different complexities for a player to play with, all catered to different levels of fighting game players.
No Motion, Mashing, or Chord Inputs! All attacks are done with a Direction + Button
Buttons can be held down indefinitely to reduce timing demands.
Blocking can be done in multiple ways, either with a dedicated button or by holding back to accommodate players familiar will any 2D fighter.
Most characters offer a easy-to-pick-up combo system where it only takes a second to understand basic combo routes.

This game consists of 4 attack buttons: Light and Strong Normal, and Light and Strong Special. Each of them have directional variants and possess canceling properties:
Strong Normals can be canceled into Light Normals or Strong Specials.
Light Normals and Strong Specials can be canceled into Light Specials.
Light and Strong Normals can be canceled into a move of the same weight but different direction, called "chaining" in game (Ex. Neutral Light Normal -> Downward Light Normal).
This means that characters primarily attack in strings of moves, both making combos flashier and easier to perform and making block string sequences a little more involved!
The Vigor System
The Vigor System
The lifeblood of your fighters, The Vigor Meter controls a lot of the defensive capabilities of the roster. Generally, defending (blocking, dashing, etc.) raises the meter, while offense (hitting the opponent) lowers it. Using a universal Vigor Ability or getting knocked down puts an opponent in Enervated, a very scary spot to be in! This creates an incentive to stay in the fight while also giving every fighter a defensive edge when things get tight!
The Vigor Abilities all instantly put the fighter in Enervated for a duration proportional to the meter (the more purple meter, the longer you'll stay in Enervated). To compensate, these abilities all offer extreme defensive (and sometimes offensive) power to balance out the crazy mechanics this game offers!
In addition to this, the Advanced complexity lets you cancel anything into a jump, dash, or even abilities outside of the hierarchy for a Vigor cost!
